But I’ve run every version of Ubuntu since 6.06 as it was released as Beta. This time I think I might wait a little. Maybe even install arch or something.

btrfs is in the mainline kernel, but with a warning:

Btrfs filesystem (EXPERIMENTAL) Unstable disk format

x Btrfs is highly experimental, and THE DISK FORMAT IS NOT YET x
x FINALIZED. You should say N here unless you are interested in x
x testing Btrfs with non-critical data. x

So I wouldn’t use it. Basically that translates to: YOU WILL LOSE DATA.
