Come 1 October the Coca-Cola dome in Johannesburg will be awash with geeks and nerds of every kind. Among the sea of faces you will find computer geeks, comic book nerds, gamers, modders, overclockers and the people behind some of the biggest industry names today.
Why all the excitement? rAge will be there, of course.
For three days the best the Gaming and Entertainment Technology industry has to offer will be found under one roof at the Coca-Cola Dome.
rAge – Africa’s Biggest Gaming and Entertainment Technology Expo
rAge, the Really Awesome Gaming expo is the biggest expo of its kind in Africa. In fact, having worked at various shows and expos over the years, the expected pull of 20 000 attendees puts rAge squarely in league with some of the largest expos of any kind in South Africa.
Among the reallyreally awesome events that will be taking place during rAge are a 53hour NAG LAN sponsored by Alienware, exclusive presentations by some of the big names in the gaming industry, new product launches, playable preview code of new games and tons more!
53hours of LAN goodness.
Alienware really comes to the party this year, sponsoring a LAN of momentous proportions in conjunction with NAG – 2800 gamers, 53 hours of gaming. This will be an event to see.
Bad news is that tickets are sold out, but in conjunction with Incredible Connection 80 tickets are up to be won, and teams have been battling it out since the 8th of September to secure their seats at the NAG LAN.
Seating arrangements are first come first serve, so come early – the LAN opens 10am Friday 1 October.
As an added bonus, this years LAN at rAge stands a chance to be recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest non permanent LAN in the Southern Hemisphere.
Explosive Growth, Awesome Industry Exclusives
Year on year rAge has experienced massive growth in attendance. This year tickets for the NAG LAN sold out in a mere 36 Hours!
Greeting the expected 20 000 visitors will be exclusive announcements and releases from the industry, chances to experience the latest in motion sensing technologies with the Playstation 3 Move and the XBox 360 Kinect.
To sweeten the deal the Verge will be there! The countries favorite gaming TV show will be there, hosted by Pippa Tshabalala. If you are in the area come along to meet her and maybe organise yourself a mug!
