Intel’s unveils controversial PC upgrade scheme

This is the worst idea of the year. Intel now wants to sell you a chip with certain features, and charge you to “unlock” those features after you have purchased the chip.

Bullshit. You buy a chip with hyperthreading, no problem. Ohhh…. you actually want to use said hyperthreading? Sure no worries, buy a coupon and well give unlock that feature for you.

I hope this idea cans.

One in five hey? Wow that is actually more than I expected. I wonder how many of the remaining four actually do it but will never admit?

I am afraid that the word ‘hacking’ gains airplay in a negative sense. The correct term is ‘cracking’ people.
