Snippets for Tuesday.
Today we remind you of a Steve Jobs Venture that kinda succeeded, a sudden outbreak of common sense in Ireland, and Apple and Google duking it out in TV land.
Oh, and something about there being an app for that…

Steve Jobs Introduces NeXTComputer
Right, with all the success he has had in recent years one often forgets about Steve Jobs’ other – less successful – ventures, like the NeXT computer.
It introduced some really cool features, and then bombed.

Irish court rules in favour of ISPs in piracy case
Take that antipiracy profiteers. An Irish court has ruled in favor of a motion by ISPs that cutting of users from the Internet is illegal and cannot be enforced in Ireland.
Heres hoping other countries follow suit. (SaGeek Disclaimer – We do not condone piracy, but we do believe that users have rights, and these rights are too often trampled and ignored by anti piracy groups, it has become a revenue stream – nothing less.)

Google to launch low-cost Android phones in India
Aha, a month after RIM caved to pressure from the Indian government re allowing them to snoop on RIM BlackBerry users, Google dives in with plans to launch low-cost Android phones.

Google Goggles on your Galaxy Tab? There’s an app for that.
Want to add $functionality to your $android device? There is, in fact, an app for that.
Want flash on your iToy? Uh, yeah, about that…
Read The Register for the UK take on this, disappointingly with less nose thumbing.
Google and Apple heat up battle for TV screens
Oh boy, Sony is launching a Google Powered TV, and Logitech already has. Of course Apple launched its own TV box too.
Know what, I am rooting for Google here, why? Because there is an app for that!

Web health services need ‘rules’
Know what, I agree with this. Maybe homeopaths will get some regulation too. I mean, if they ever want to graduate from the dark ages to ‘real’ medicine they will have to play by the same rules.
Until then, real doctors will need to be monitored – and unfortunately the Internet needs to be protected against homeopaths the uneducated medical Googloids of this world…
