Memo Urges Microsoft to Plan for the Death of PCs

So there is a memo going around warning Microsoft that PC’s are dying out. While there is certainly a decline, I would not go so far as to say they will die out soon.

Ray Ozzie would have you think that this death of the PC will be due to the availability of cloud services. That is even less likely. There will be people with no desire to put all their data in the hands of faceless online services. How many people will have enough bandwidth to have their files and data always easily available in any case?

I say this is crying wolf. Now let me go synch my contacts with Ubuntu One…
