However, at first I didn't like the Disqus plugin, for the simple reason that there wasn't an option to comment anonymously. I run a blog <a href="http://www.belowthelion.co.za" rel="nofollow">all about marijuana</a> (not tech), and it's important for users to be able to leave comments anonymously without having to facebook connect etc. I now see that there is a guest posting option available, which is great! Also The Disqus comment system promotes blog trust as many of the high traffic tech blogs have the the Disqus comments system implemented so to tech readers its a familiar friend. The good far outweigh the bad... Sure it looks like it, they give you the ability, but you are still being controlled by a 3rd party. Using your blog's comments system, you are in full control of the comments, and therefore the content. I'd much rather be in that position, than have disqus hold my friends' comments ransom one day.
